Talking Trash While Talking Tech!
You may notice that I recently added a new link to my “I Write” section. That link is for the tech podcast I have just started with three friends. Generation Tech is a podcast of four twenty-somethings who talk tech, videogames and whatever else suits our fancy. We’ve recorded two episodes and I feel now is a good time for me to let you all know what I’ve been up to...

Sondermusic
My friend Lauren has been trying to express her creativity since the first moment I met her. She created various websites attempting to harness her creativity and to help others promote theirs. Finally, she has truly found her niche and I couldn’t be more proud! Lauren has started her own music/arts studio! Sondermusic is located in Norman, Oklamhoma. So if you’re in that area you...

8 Against 8
California is putting a proposition on their ballot trying to eliminate the right to same-sex marriage. No matter where we turn, there will always be those too afraid to accept those who are different. The Church of Latter Day Saints is, of course, leading the charge to discriminate against those they deem to be “sinners”.
But there are those leading the charge against Prop 8! A...

Quick Tips: Simple SEO Enhancement
I’ve spent some time over the past week researching and trying to find simple ways to increase traffic to my website. Nowadays, even your average Joe (Joe Six Pack?) is creating a website for himself and trying to carve his niche in the online world. If you are one of the many people (like me) who decide to start their own blog or website, here are some very simple things you can do to...

My Analog Life: School
This article is part of an ongoing series called, “My Analog/Digital Life”.
I was once a Political Science major with a minor Economics. I wrote 10 page long papers about why a free market economy was the best way to run our country and I promoted small government. I was quite loquacious on these subjects. Then I realized something. However much I was passionate about...

Bottle Up and Explode: In Memory of Elliott Smith
Elliott Smith (August 6th, 1969 - October 21st, 2003) is an artist I hold dear to my heart. His music with it’s simple but hook-laden guitar licks and soft melodic vocals snared me very quickly. But it was his deeply emotional and confessional lyrics that trapped me inside my room for hours listening to songs over and over again. He died far too young, but his music still lives on. I meet...

Get Dropbox. Go Do It Now!
Dropbox is quite possibly my favorite new web app out there. It is by far the most utilitarian one I use. Dropbox is an application that is downloaded onto your system and allows you to sync files to an online file storage system. You can then access these files from any computer through the web interface, or through computers linked through the Dropbox desktop application.

The Most Epic Daniel Johnston Primer →
I initially only made this mix for Andrew, but I’ve decided that I think everyone should be introduced to this amazing artist.
Daniel Johnston is a prolific singer/songwriter who cut his first album in the early 1980s. He suffers from severe manic depression and bi-polar disorder, which directly influences his music. A lot of people who hear Daniel think he can’t sing and his songs...

– Dan Savage via The Stranger
I rarely enjoy reading Dan Savage. I find him to be arrogant and ignorant in a lot of ways. BUT I think he is spot on in his characterization of Palin’s views on homosexuals. It’s the faux acceptance that pervades the United States that is really dividing...

Podcamp Michigan
I’ve just found out about Podcamp Michigan. Podcamp Michigan will be the first of its kind in the Detroit area and I’m very excited for it.
If you are from the Detroit area, or hell even if you’re from Chicago. Try and make it out to this FREE event. It’s a very grassroots/DIY affair and I really want to help support it. Even if this event doesn’t end up being...

MatsieFTW! Gets a Facelift
You may notice that my website has a gotten a fairly decent sized facelift today. I hope you all enjoy the new design. I’d love some feedback on it. I think it may be a bit too busy and am thinking of taking the FriendFeed widget away.
Any suggestions you may have are always welcome.
A Brief Update
My introductory post has been published to Macgasm. You may find it here.
If you were wondering, that means I am writing for both EastScene and Macgasm as well as embarking on a few of my own endeavors.
SMaT! seems to have hit a stand still. I’m not sure what’s going on there, but a few friends and myself have realized that our conversations about technology and life in general...
