Anyone who knows me knows that I am a huge baseball fan. While in Poland, I took the time to teach my 2 year old niece all the rules of baseball (including that you may cheer for only the Tigers and the BoSox and under no circumstances can you cheer for the White Sox or the Yankees…cheering for the Cubs is acceptable, but not encouraged). But when you think about this kind of extravagant spending by a ball club, you should get angry regardless of how much you love the sport. You should get angry regardless of how much we “needed” that player, that stadium, that new club manager. Because in the end, we don’t need them. No matter what we think.
